LA-AID assists detained and released immigrants. We have helped over 3500 immigrants since January of 2021 in the 8 detention centers in Louisiana and the 1 detention center in Natchez, MS. Airports or greyhound bus stations are an hour to two hours from all but one detention center. We provide transport, hosting, meals, and ticket assistance to released immigrants. We provide resources for pro-bono legal assistance and medical advocacy.
LA-AID has volunteer groups in Lafayette, Alexandria, Shreveport, Monroe and affiliations with groups in Natchez, MS and New Orleans. LA-AID is a 501(c)(3) organization
